As we know DTMRI is a evolving field So many Researches and study going on here are Some of the new advancements on diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) are:
High resolution ex vivo diffusion tensor distribution MRI of neural tissue: This technique uses a novel diffusion tensor distribution (DTD) paradigm to probe microstructural features much smaller than the MRI voxel size. It can capture crossing and splaying white matter fibers, cortical layers, and skewed fiber diameter distributions in the brain and spinal cord1.
Current applications of DTI and DTI-derived tractography in oncology: This article reviews how DTI and DTI-derived tractography (DDT) can be used for preoperative, non-invasive mapping of eloquent cortical regions and functionally relevant white matter tracts in brain tumor patients. It also discusses the challenges and limitations of these methods2.
Diffusion tensor image denoising via geometric invariant nonlocal means on the tensor manifold: This approach reduces undesired components in the degraded DTI image by using a geometric invariant nonlocal means algorithm on the tensor manifold. It can preserve the intrinsic property of the diffusion tensor and improve the accuracy of DTI analysis3.
